The series of paintings and drawings is the result of work carried out on location and in the studio. Everything begins with drawing, and remembering. They begin as an immediate response to a particular landscape but may transform with continual reworking and re-examining to the extent that topographical concerns become secondary, and a more personal visceral response is allowed to develop
Lisa Carter Grist – Darganfod y Ffordd / Wayfinding
This presentation features a selection of watercolours and works on paper which were painted outdoors in the artist’s local landscape Llannefydd, alongside a small selection of studio works. Responding to details in her immediate environment with an intuitive, spontaneous approach, her paintings freely blend the real and the imagined.
Ronnie Drillsma – Patrymau yn y Tirlun / Patterns in the Landscape
Collaged papers and Acrylics are used to create the textural effects that have become recognisable as Ronnie Drillsma’s personal style. The inspiration is borne from her observation of patterns in the Welsh landscape.
